Ernestine Armstrong is our fall 2016 student intern. She is currently attending New Mexico State University majoring in Kinesiology. Ernestine is Diné and from the Church Rock area of the Navajo Nation. She is Ts’ah yisk’ idnii (Sage Brush Hill) born for To’ahani (Near the Water), her maternal grandfather is Tachii’nii (Red Running Into The Water People) and her paternal grandfather is Todich’ii’nii (Bitter Water). Ernestine states her goal in life is to graduate from college and plans to go into the rehabilitation field in order to return home to work and help promote a healthier Navajo Nation and community. She has a large interest in the human body, health, and exercise. She has a passion for helping others and intends to make a lifelong career out it. She loves God, spending time with family, training and riding horses, playing basketball, going to concerts, traveling, reading and listening to great music.
